Stefanie Schroeder

Special guest and educator

Stefanie Schroeder is a Florence-based American Italophile. When she was 13, she and her family moved to Milan for three years because her father was offered a temporary job opportunity. That’s when her love affair with Italy and the Italian language began.

After graduating from Kent State University in 2005, her career in public relations and marketing took her to Chicago and then Nashville. It was in Nashville that she rediscovered her passion for Italian through Italian for Fun. During COVID, when she was working as the director of marketing and communications for a private school outside of the city, she got the idea to pursue a language certification and live in Italy beyond the amount of time her passport would allow. She applied for a study visa, then arrived in Florence in January 2023. She has since obtained her CILS B2 and C1 certifications through the University of Siena.

She finds life in Italy to be a true joy and delights in sharing the Italian lifestyle with others. She occasionally shares stories about her experience on her fledgling website, www.honoraryitalian.com.
